Oconee County Public Library cards are available for free to individuals of any age who:

• live in Oconee County
• work in Oconee County
• own property in Oconee County
• live in any one of the jurisdictions that participate in the regional reciprocal borrowing program

Cards may be obtained by visiting any OCPL branch in person.

You are asked to present your library card whenever you check out library materials.

To establish eligibility, you must provide a picture ID with a current address.  If your current address does not appear on the photo ID, you must also present one of the following forms showing your current address:

• Utility bill
• Voter registration card
• Payroll check
• Rental or lease agreement

• Books — 28 days;  3 renewals
• New Books — 14 days;  3 renewals
• Audiobooks — 28 days;  3 renewals
• DVDs/Blu-rays — 7 days;  1 renewal

Items are renewed automatically if there are no holds by other patrons.

If an item has already been published, but you can't find it in our catalog, you can make a purchase request at your library. The library is pleased to accept purchase requests from patrons, but will not earmark those items for specific patrons until they are in the catalog, where holds may be placed according to normal library procedures.

If the Oconee County Library does not own a specific item and that item is more than 12 months old, the library may borrow it, if available, from another library outside the OCPL system. An ILL can be requested only for an adult patron whose card is in good standing and who owes NO fines. A maximum of 3 ILLs may be checked out to a patron at one time and they must be returned before any new requests can be made. A fee of 50¢ per day is charged for any late items and any lost or damaged ILLs are the responsibility of the patron.

Volunteers are being accepted on a branch-by-branch basis; please call your local branch for details. Oconee County Public Library does not accept court-ordered volunteers.
