NEW-Coming in August! Pop-up seed libraries at the other branches. Dates and times below. Just in time for fall planting!
The Betty B. Watkins Seed Library has officially been restocked with seeds for fall planting. These seeds include turnips, lettuce, collards, spinach, and more. Residents of Oconee County can pick up free seeds during operating hours at the permanent collections at the Westminster Library in Westminster or at the Oconee History Museum in Walhalla. To help reach more people, the libraries will also be hosting pop-up events which will include a small assortment of seeds that residents can pick up at their home library. You can find the pop-up seed collection during operating hours at the Seneca Library on Tuesday, August 16; at the Walhalla Library on Monday, August 22; and at the Salem Library on Monday, September 12. Seeds will also be available at scheduled Bookmobile stops on August 16, 17, 18, 24, & 25. Since its launch in June of 2021, the BBW Seed Library has given out over 4,000 packs of free seeds to residents of Oconee County.
