Library Services Update and Returned Items Info
ALL BRANCHES closed 18 January 2021, for Martin Luther King holiday.
NEW: RETURNED LIBRARY ITEMS: Please note that the library system is “quarantining” all things that users return for a period of three days (72 hours) before they are checked back in. That number changes slightly when holidays and weekends are counted. If you return an item but still receive an overdue notice or still see the item(s) on your library account, it is probably because they are still in our quarantine cycle. That time might be extended further if a branch in our system shuts down for COVID-19. Please allow a few days (up to a week) for the items to be processed before inquiring about an overdue notice.
Current hours: The main branch in Walhalla is open Mondays and Tuesdays, 10-6, and Wednesday through Friday, 10-4. The Seneca Branch is open Mondays and Thursdays, 10-6, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10-4. The Westminster Branch is open Mondays, 10-6, and Tuesday-Friday, 10-4; the Salem Branch is open on Mondays, 10-6, and Tuesday-Friday, 10-4, closing from 12-1 for lunch. Certain areas of the library are not open, such as meeting rooms and study areas, as well as the SC History Room at the main library in Walhalla. Seating in our branches is very limited. Once it has been deemed safe, more areas will be opened and more services will be reestablished.
Bookmobile Services restarted on limited basis
The Bookmobile started a modified schedule in August, 2020, with some stops changing for now and for pickups and drop off only, with a table outside the Bookmobile. Only the librarian will be allowed on the Bookmobile at these stops for now.
We’re doing everything we can to keep you and our staff safe at this time. Please call your selected branch for further assistance.
