News on resuming some library services
NEW: Starting Sep 8, the hours will expand slightly at all branches. The main branch in Walhalla will be open Mondays and Tuesdays, 10-6, and Wednesday through Friday, 10-4. The Seneca Branch will be open Mondays and Thursdays, 10-6, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10-4. The Westminster Branch will be open Mondays, 10-6, and Tuesday-Friday, 10-4; the Salem Branch will be open on Mondays, 10-6, and Tuesday-Friday, 10-4, closing from 12-1 for lunch.
As of Wednesday, August 19, face coverings will be required while inside any county building, including all libraries in the county. See county ordinance here: Ordinance 2020-14 (E)
Beginning Monday, June 15, the library reopened for people to come into the buildings. Library hours are limited, right now 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional hours on some evenings and Saturdays will be added possibly by Fall, 2020. Certain areas of the library are not open, such as meeting rooms and study areas, as well as the SC History Room at the main library in Walhalla. Seating in our branches is very limited. Once it has been deemed safe, more areas will be opened and more services will be reestablished. Curbside service will continue for those that want it, but it will be on a request basis. Please note that items returned are separated for 72 hours (3 days) before they are checked in, so they may still appear on your record even once you have turned them in.
Bookmobile Services restarted on limited basis
The Bookmobile will be starting a modified schedule in August, with some stops changing for now and for pickups and drop off only, with a table outside the Bookmobile. Only the librarian will be allowed on the Bookmobile at these stops for now.
We’re doing everything we can to keep you and our staff safe at this time. Please call your selected branch for further assistance.
