OCPL adds new resource for learning

The Oconee County Public Library is happy to announce the addition of a new online learning resource. KnowledgeCity features over 12,000 video courses on subjects like computing, business, finance, workplace safety and compliance. Check it out at our online link under “OCPL Digital Learning.” The site itself and many of the classes are also in Spanish. (Muchas de las clases también son en español.)

Literacy Kits now at the OCPL

In order to help parents find materials on their child’s reading level, the OCPL has created Literacy Kits. These kits contain multiple books in various reading levels, comprehension questions for parents to discuss with their children as they read, and hands-on reading skill games to boost understanding. Library eliminates fines on some children’s materials

As of Friday, May 31, all children’s materials like E and J books, VOX books, and children’s audio books, will no linger have fines assessed on them. Young adult books, Launchpad tablets, and DVDs are not included. Lost and damaged items will still have fees assessed on them. If you owed fines on these before Friday, they will still need to be paid.
